I really like this one, thinking I'm grateful that people around me all set clear goals. ie. In running, there's not really an attitude of "I'm gonna be the next big thing", but more "I'm going to be faster than [x]", or "I'm going to get [y] time". A lot of this helps people set clear/SMART goals, and is beneficial outside of the sport.
A lot of these people making loose claims are doing so because they see other people around them doing the same thing, and sadly, it works.
Thank you for sharing! Concrete goals are difficult to come by in many fields—and I’m not sure they’re fundamentally useful without a process/system to achieve them—but I’ve noticed lots of people enjoy exercise due to the obvious quantifiable and observable goals
